I Developed My Art Making Skills
Did you learn new techniques or processes as part of the work for this project?
I certainly gained a lot of skills and techniques while doing this project. First of all, I learned that coloring the paper with random colors can get you a lot of fame. My art project was basically about color. The mixture of colors can be a reason for you to be a famous artist. I also learned that the skill in art, is not only about how good the art piece is, but its also about you convincing the others that this is the best piece that they will ever see. Of Course, your art should be good to convince others. To conclude, my art piece was all about colors, but it was still all about swag. ;)
Did you gain skill with familiar materials?
I gained skill with painting brushes. First, I didn't know how to use this painting brushes as good as I see people do. I used to always mix up when I mixed the colors. I had a hard time tring to adjust the paint brush in the right position. However, after I started this project, I started feeling the brush, and also started understanding how it needs to be positioned in the right place. I also mixed random colors, which also gave me random colors. Finally, I would have not understanded how the brush work, if i didn't do this project.
How did you use your own unique ideas in your work?
I Create Original Art
In my art project, I was trying to think of a new way to do it. I was planning on making it more different and a lot more simple than all my previous projects. So, I decided to mix the premium or the main colors to get many other colors and then paint them. Finally, I think that I had some unique ideas of painting this drawing, even though I was inspired by another art piece for the North Carolina Museum of Art.
Did you use a source for inspiration, then combine it with your own ideas to make it original?
Yes, I did use a source of inspiration that inspired me to paint this drawing. The painting that inspired me was painted by George Cress. He also had a lot of different colors in his painting, but the difference between me and him, is that my painting is way more brighter than his. Of course, his is way more better, but I was trying to do my best. Finally, I decided to make mine a little different than his, and covered the paper with more colors than he had on his paper.
George Cress's Art vs. My Art
- Why did you pick the piece you did? What drew you to it?
The thing that drew me to this particular style of art was how simple it was in painting. In my opinion, this art piece is all about mixture of colors. I also picked this piece because I had nothing else to pick, and I was running out of time. :)
- Tell me about your thought process? How does your piece relate to the original and how did you achieve that?
My thoughts about this is that it is really really easy, and that it only takes a beginner to paint this painting. In my opinion, my art relates to the main art in many ways, but the main one is that both my art and his art represent colors. Finally, I achieved my goal, that was drawing a painting that was Inspired by George Cress's painting, but not exactly the same in the same time.
